Hey all,

Just another reminder for all of you to buy your prom tickets ASAP.

Tickets are selling fast and we only have a few booklets left.

Once again,

DU students and ex-DU students: RM120
Outsiders: RM140

If you're interested in buying a table, the pricing is as follows;

DU students and ex-DU students: RM110 per person
Outsiders: RM130 per person

Tables are able to seat up to 10 people.

Been M.I.A for awhile. But, we're now back with a great news!

We have managed to subsidize the price of the ticket. *claps and cheers*

RM 140 - Outsiders

For those who paid the RM 140 for the early ticket price, you can bring your receipt and collect your refund of RM 20 soon. Will be announced on the blog shortly.

Not to forget about the fact that we have actually set a new theme to the entire event. *points to header* Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous.

p.s. It's not that we do not want to reduce the price any further but it's tough getting companies to sponsor a school's prom night. So if any of you out there have parents who wouldn't mind sponsoring, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thanks

Good news people.

Early bird prices for tickets have been EXTENDED to the 8th of May!

We have also decided that since no one can come up with the funds right away, we'll be accepting deposits of minimum HALF the ticket price.

The deposit option is for EVERYONE which includes outsiders as well.

However you need to pay the remaining amount BY 31ST JUNE or we will not return the deposited amount you have given us.

Oh and just so you're all clear on this matter, we will not be selling tickets to anyone below the age of 17 UNLESS their date is a form 5 student.

Prices for SMKDU's PROM NIGHT 2009 tickets are as follows:

For SMKDU students/ ex-SMKDU students:
*currently F5 and studying in SMKDU
*currently F5 and was from SMKDU
*any senior from SMKDU.

Early Bird : RM 140
[from 24th April - 4th May]

Normal Price : RM 150
[from 5th May - 21st August]

Late Buyers : RM 170
[from 22nd August - 31st October.]

For Non-SMKDU students:
*complete SMKDU virgin.
(including the dates/guests/+1s of DU students as well)

Normal Price: RM 160
[from 24th April - 21st August]

Late Buyers: RM 170
[from 22nd August - 31st October]

Tickets would not be sold from the 31st of October onwards as the committee would have to prepare for their SPM examinations, so hurry and get your tickets fast! :)

the prom committee will be selling sweets for the next few weeks to raise funds for prom. just spot the sexy secretary prancing around school with the big pink box.

we, the committee, would be selling sweets to EVERYONE IN SMKDU, and YES THAT INCLUDES YOU TOO, JUNIORS (i know you're reading this *winkwink*), so please show us your support!

..oh and by the way,
we now have a themeless prom.
so the hall will just be nicely decorated, but not to any theme.

WE HAVE A THEME!!!

So say HELLO to our prom details. :D

Theme: GREEK PARADISE *

Date: 18TH DECEMBER 2009

Time: 6.30PM TO 11.30PM

Ticket Price: RM130 - RM150 (this is just a rough estimate, most probably will be lowered once we find sponsors)

Venue: SHERATON IMPERIAL KUALA LUMPUR (click)

*Note: Greek Paradise is our OFFICIAL THEME but we're renaming it to something more classy and elegant. Something we'd all be happy with. The decorations for the hall won't be as cheesy as you think it might. We're not gonna put naked greek statues everywhere alright.

Oh there'll probably be a Facebook and MySpace page for prom pretty soon. So keep checking back.

FAQ's

I'll answer a few FAQ's just to clear things up.

1. Do we need to dress up according to the theme?
   No.
   
   
2. Will there be alcohol and gambling? :D
   No.
   
   
3. Then what would be the difference with the themes if we won't be gambling? :S
   The decorating committee is only going to provide PROPS AND ONLY PROPS for the night. So the hall would LOOK like something out of a James Bond movie. Consumption of any alcoholic beverage or gambling activities are strictly prohibited.
   
   
4. So does that mean we can smoke? :DD
   NO.
   
   
5. Greek Paradise sounds so cheesy! (=_=)
   Then vote for Casino Royale.
   
   
6. When is prom?
   The date and venue will be posted up soon. Keep checking back for more updates.
   
   
7. Who should the performers register to?
   Wan Nadira or Sherwin. Refer to flyer for their numbers.
   
   
8. The themes sound so cliche and overdone. Why not do something unique and different? :/
   We'll be renaming the prom theme so it won't be called "Greek Paradise" or "Casino Royale". Ultimately, you'd end up with a unique prom theme but decorated according to what theme you voted for. Geddit?

Prom Theme(s)

Alright so I've added a poll to the sidebar. SMDU students PLEASE vote for your choice of theme. We want you guys to enjoy prom and not grumble the night away talking smack about the choice of theme. We realized the want/need for the theme to be something elegant and classy instead of something cliche and boring. So please vote okay? Any queries or comments, feel free to use the tagboard or leave a comment after the affiliated post.

One more thing, YES THOSE BANDS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PERFORMING FOR OUR PROM HAVE TO PAY AN AUDITION FEE. Most proms are asking for double the fee so we think that RM10 is pretty reasonable. If you have any problems, take it up with Head of Events, Wan Nadira. Thank you.
